  6. Focusing errors can result in significant differences in the 
  7. findings for a given cornea.  If the instrument is closer or further from the cornea than it should be the rings in the image will be separated more or less than if in focus resulting in errors.

  9. When using the instruments one must focus them as precise as possible.  Many of the newer instruments have automated 
  10. focusing to minimize this problem.
